With a temperate oceanic climate, no wonder why the Geelong is frequently visited by tourists all year round. Due to a minimal amount of rainfall in a year, Geelong is considered the driest sizeable city in Australia.

And with this, locals are switching to solar energy in order to maximize the 12-hour long day time. Not only helps them to maximize the available source but also help save the environment.

Feed-in Tariffs for Geelong residents

Currently in Victoria, the State Government mandates that electricity retailers pay you at least 8c for each kWh you export to the grid. This is available for systems up to 5kW in size and is reviewed annually and adjusted based on the wholesale price of electricity.

While the state government does mandate a minimum 8c/kWh feed in tariff rate to be provided by energy retailers, some retailers do offer higher rates. Do your homework on which retailer can provide you the highest rate to get the best possible deal.
